Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 October 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By registering for or using NextShifts ("the platform", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. What the platform is

NextShifts is an online marketplace connecting UK care facilities and staffing agencies ("organisations") with individual carers for shift work. We facilitate introductions, shift postings, and payments — we are not an employment agency or employer of carers, and we are not a care provider ourselves.

3. Eligibility and verification

  • Organisations must provide accurate registration details and valid verification documents (e.g. CQC registration) before posting shifts.
  • Carers must provide accurate details, including right-to-work status and DBS check information, before accepting shifts.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or reject any account that fails verification or provides false information.

4. Organisation responsibilities

  • Organisations are responsible for the accuracy of shift postings, including pay rate, location, and requirements.
  • Organisations remain responsible for their own regulatory and safeguarding obligations when engaging carers found through the platform.
  • Subscription fees are billed according to the plan selected at checkout and are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Carer responsibilities

  • Carers must only accept shifts they are legally permitted and competently qualified to perform.
  • Carers are responsible for attending accepted shifts and communicating promptly with organisations regarding availability.
  • Misrepresenting qualifications, DBS status, or right-to-work status is grounds for immediate account termination.

6. Payments

Subscription payments from organisations are processed securely via Stripe. Fees, billing cycles, and plan features are as described on our registration and pricing pages at the time of purchase. Organisations can update their payment details or cancel their subscription at any time through the “Manage billing” page. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for.

7. Platform role and liability

We provide the platform "as is" to facilitate connections between organisations and carers. We do not guarantee the availability, conduct, or performance of any carer or organisation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from shifts arranged through the platform, including missed shifts, disputes, or conduct of either party.

8. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms, fails verification, or engages in conduct that risks the safety or trust of the platform.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11. Public listings and records

Verified organisations may be named, together with details of the shifts they post (such as role, location, times and pay rate), in shift listings shown on our website homepage and to carers in our app. We do not publish an organisation’s verification documents. If an account is closed or deleted, we keep billing and payment records (such as invoice amounts, dates and Stripe references) for as long as the law requires us to retain accounting records. We also keep a log of access to verification documents, for security and audit purposes.

12. Contact us

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@nextshifts.co.uk.
